Half-Peach Bakery & Cafe is a beloved Louisville vegan restaurant with an enchanting story. In short, Sue Zhao grew up in China with aspirations of becoming a doctor. At times, fruits and vegetables were the only items that she could afford. Although she didn’t make it to medical school, Sue has always kept her health-minded habits and passion for sharing her lifestyle with others.
Years later, Sue and her daughter Tina decided to embrace a vegan diet, but they didn’t realize at the time how hard it would be to find vegan deserts. When they came to a dead-end, Sue began experimenting ways she could replace eggs and butter in desserts. After many attempts, she created recipes that both she and Tina loved. She began to share them with friends and colleagues and then started selling her baked goods at local farmer’s markets and at Rainbow Blossom Natural Food Markets.
In 2016, they opened their bakery & cafe in St. Matthews. We are proud to work with Half-Peach Bakery & Cafe to provide all of their label needs. Below you can see pictures of their labels and what makes them different from other vegan restaurants.
Unique Approach To Vegan Food
Many vegan restaurants put a spotlight on their alternative meat dishes like chili fries and wings. Half-Peach has a decidedly different approach where the main stars of their dishes are fruits and vegetables. Additionally, they bake all of their buns, baguettes, and rolls in-house to ensure the freshest products possible. For customers who avoid oils, they have creative and decadent oil-free desserts. In all they do, they strive to be inclusive.
Their inspiration comes from Sue’s Chinese roots, extensive travel, and her time in the South. They don’t shy away from experimentation either. It took many tries to get their fan-favorite chocolate chip cookies down. We print labels for all of their products including their cookie dough kit and already-baked cookies that you can find in Safai Coffee, LIFEbar, and V-Grits.

The Value of Product Labels
When they first began selling their baked goods, they knew that they needed a label to help their products stand out and to establish them as a bakery you can trust. They originally tried to go the DIY route and design and print their own labels. When that didn’t work, they tried another local company. When that didn’t work, they chose Louisville Label because of our high-quality service and affordability.
It’s been 8 years in the making and their hard work has paid off. They’ve had a storefront for 3.5 years and have grown to be a Louisville favorite. Sue is constantly launching new products, so be sure to follow their Instagram to keep tabs on their offerings and when it strikes your fancy, visit their store in St. Matthews.
