It’s summer, it’s hot, and it is time for ice cream. We have Louisville’s The Comfy Cow on our minds and it’s giving us a brain freeze just thinking about it! Founders and owners Tim and Roy Koons-McGee take great pride in creating the most memorable flavors and love contributing to the community. Their tasty creations often support local companies whenever possible by using them in their ingredients. A recent local ingredient is Old 502 Winery’s “Bourbon Barrel Red” ice cream that is used for the seasonal “Old 502 Sangria” and is mixed with peaches, blackberries, and sweet basil (yum!).
Sweet and Upbeat
The Comfy Cow employees always have a bright attitude when helping you sample the latest and greatest. While their upbeat attitude could be a reflection of the eclectic and lively atmosphere each location provides, it is more likely that this positive and friendly demeanor comes all the way from the top. Charter for Compassion is an organization that the company stands behind and works into its own values. The idea behind the organization is to create a movement that is inspired by the most fundamental concept we learned as children; the Golden Rule. The principle pushes people to live honorably and compassionately and to treat every person they encounter, just as they would want to be treated.
A Signature Summer
The Comfy Cow gets excited about their flavors. When you walk in they encourage you to try Black Raspberry Chip in a cone on a beautiful summer day, it’s because they love it and think you will too. Weekends by the pool, hanging by the lake, or sitting on the front porch are best accompanied with some sweet-tooth-satisfying ice cream. After an afternoon baseball game, treat your little ones to Cake “Batter Up” with bits of cake mixed into the signature yellow cake batter. Or, sweeten up a date with the classic Bourbon Ball ice cream.
As their company expands, including a relatively new location in the Highlands, their brand maintains the high standard of quality service and taste. This fun and lively company is a great client to have here at Louisville Label, and we encourage you to get out of the sun, and into the nearest The Comfy Cow this summer!
