Moss Hill offers a variety of pampering products. Whether it’s handmade soaps, lotions, candles, or gift sets, Moss Hill has a product that will pamper you. All of Moss Hill’s products are made in small batches from their very own recipes, and every item receives individual attention throughout each step of the creation process.
The Moss Hill Story
Flashback to 1976 when Jeanine Moneypenny was in middle school and met her new neighbor and friend, Teri Amsler. The two quickly became inseparable. As a kid, Jeanine had always loved to create small gifts for family and friends. This interest led her to create her own company, Moss Hill, about 25 years later.
In 2011, around Moss Hill’s tenth anniversary, Jeanine began to realize that the only way her business would ever grow would be to add a partner. She realized immediately that she knew the perfect person to fill that role. So she reached out to her old friend Teri to meet at a local Mexican restaurant, where they agreed to enter into a partnership.
What started out as a booth at the St. James Art Festival quickly became a retail space at the Butchertown Market, along with opportunities at other craft shows. After years of growth and solidifying themselves as a staple in the growing Butchertown neighborhood, in May of 2021, Jeanine decided it was time to pursue new opportunities and stepped away from the company she had started 20 years prior.
Moss Hill is now run by Terri and her two daughters, Devon and Lyn. Though some of the people have changed, they always remember where they came from – a place of friendship, fulfilling experiences, and their desire to create affordable, luxurious, hand-crafted bath and body items. Everyone needs to bathe, so you might as well make it enjoyable! Their products bear the Kentucky Proud and Kentucky Crafted seals of approval, and they currently sell them in a number of stores across the country.
Stepping into New Territory
“We have enjoyed a very flexible working experience with Louisville Label. Ken, Kathy, and Tara have all been extremely helpful in moving us along this new label journey. We have designed and printed our own labels in-house for about 20 years, so this move to matte laminate-colored labels is a new experience for us.”
