A few weeks ago, we hosted our annual Christmas party at the University Club at U of L. We enjoyed a few festive cocktails and a delicious dinner of salmon, beef and other delicious accompaniments. Each year, this gathering gives us an opportunity to visit with the rest of our coworkers and we always have a wonderful turnout!
One special recognition everyone looks forward to are the “Golden Girls.” The Golden Girls are comprised of some of the original ladies who worked most of their lives in the office or production. This year we honored Dorothy Vernon, a Golden Girl, who had worked at Louisville Label since she was 16. She recently retired, making her the most tenured employee at Louisville Label. Every year, Anne recognizes each of the original Golden Girls and talks about the ones who have passed. It’s a wonderful time of reflection on how far Louisville Label has come and all of our successes. This year, we displayed a picture of all of the Golden Girls, in their younger years when they worked at Louisville Label for everyone to see.
After dinner, we move on to more fun – GIFTS! Anne has worked out a special gift giving sequence of drawing names and including prizes. Everyone is able to leave with a wonderful gift. And a few special folks receive a few extras, such as an iPad and Amazon Echo.
This is an event we look forward to each and every year. We are so thankful and glad to be able to share the Christmas joy with all of our employees.
