A member of our sales team, Jean Keene, recently worked the silent auction booth at the Louisville Independent Business Association’s (LIBA) Buy Local Fair. We greatly value attending local events like these and enjoy having a presence at many mentioned in our blog on the importance of networking.
See below for what Jean Keene said about the event.
Louisville Label At LIBA’s Buy Local Fair
LIBA held its annual Buy Local fair on Sunday, May 20th. The fair included a marketplace of more than 150 booths from local businesses, as well as over 25 food and drink vendors, live music, a cooking competition, a silent auction, and a Kid’s Zone.
Jean volunteered to work at the Silent Auction booth that featured many valuable items that were donated by local businesses. Items ranged from food (sauces, spices, chocolates), clothing (hats, caps, t-shirts, scarves), household items (lamps, paintings, wooden & metal plaques), tote bags, goodie bags, wine, beer, gift certificates, soaps and even a rain barrel!
Chef Jeff Dailey from Harvest won the Trend Appliance Cooking Competition and Horseshoe Bend Vineyard and Winery won the Wilson Muir Bank Cocktail contest!
LIBA has coined the phrase “keep Louisville weird” and you’ll probably recognize their Buy Local First stickers. They believe in this initiative so strongly because all of the locally-owned businesses in Louisville are vital to preserving the unique character that is associated with the greater Louisville Metro.
Louisville Label has been a member of LIBA for 10 years. All local, Louisville companies are invited to become a member. We have seen many benefits from being a member and have created many valuable connections over the years. We look forward to attending more events like this in the near future to continue to form valuable relationships with the wonderful Louisville community.
