Patrick and Leeta Kennedy have learned first-hand that producing quality, free-range beef, pork and dairy products for consumers and community businesses is not a fad. In fact, some of the best chefs in the region continue to trust Stone Cross Farm to provide them with the freshest, local products to serve their customers.
The Kennedys believe the reason their products have become so highly sought after is the conscious commitment they have made to produce quality, free range beef, pork and dairy products that are antibiotic, steroid and free of any added hormones. They both learned at an early age how to cultivate and appreciate the land and the benefits it could produce.
Since they were both knee high to a grasshopper, Patrick and Leeta had a passion for farm life. Patrick grew up on a farm, learning at early age how to work the land and produce viable crops that could help the community thrive. As a young girl, his wife, Leeta was also entrenched in the farming community, working for her grandfather at his John Deere business.
A love for farming and a passion for continuing a long-standing tradition of serving safe, wholesome food at the table and producing it for others, led to the creation of their farming enterprise, which is not just a business for the Kennedys, but a way of life. They believe in protecting the foundation of America’s strength, the family farm, by providing high quality products, lovingly produced by the grace of God on their own land, by their own hands.
That’s the foundation of Stone Cross Farm and Cloverdale Creamery, which once began as a successful dairy, beef cattle and grain operation run by Patrick and his father. Today, the Kennedys remain dedicated to the production of all natural, locally grown foods and have expanded their offerings to beef, pork, cheese and soap that they personally oversee and manage from their 103 acre farm in Spencer County, Kentucky. Stone Cross Farm products can be found at Boone Tavern in Berea, Kentucky, Nam Nam Cafe, Lotsa Pasta, 610 Magnolia Restaurant and Lilly’s Bistro in Louisville, to name a few. They also frequent a variety of Farmer’s Markets in the area, if you want to get a taste. Check out the full Farmer’s Market schedule here and stop by for a sample.
